Blue Chips: Pete Ball, a straight-laced college basketball coach is talked into looking the other way when boosters start to help convince new recruits to come play at the university. The thought of cheating the way they are is too much for Ball. After beating then number 1 Indiana, Pete goes to the press conference and tells the whole world what he and his university are doing, and then he resigns.

The Firm: Mitch McDeere has landed his dream job. Just out of Harvard Law School, he lands a high paying job with The Firm. He has no idea just what he has signed up for.

From the Terrace: John 0′ Hara’s sarcastic journal of youthful battle war horses ascend to economical and communal prosperity is shallow. Woodward is fashionable and Newman wooden; Lay is marvelous as intoxicated mommy, Ames fine as bitter dad. Cast includes Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Myrna Loy, Amy Balin, Leon Ames, Elizabeth Allen, and Mae Swamp. (144 minutes, 1960)

Alex and The Gypsy: Roaming tale of romance between bail bondsman Lemmon and gypsy Bujold who’s implicated of tried murder. Some fascinating notions lost in the mess of an indecisive film. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Genevieve Bujold, James Woods, Gino Ardito, Robert Emhardt, and Titos Vandis. (99 minutes, 1976)

Goldeneye: In this 007 adventure Pierce Bronson plays the part of James Bond. The codes to a newly developed space weapon Goldeneye have been stolen. Bond heads to Russia, in search of the lost codes. His adversaries turn out to be former agent 006, Alec Trevelyan, along with Xenia Onatopp, a deadly assassin. 007 will need all his skills, as he travels from Russia, to the jungles of Cuba to recover the codes, and keep Goldeneye out of evil hands.

Clouds Over Europe: This 1950s B-film premise is excellent. 2008-fashion through the lens of a video camcorder clutched by a man who starts out shooting a buddy’s goodbye reception and then gets snared up in “recording” everything that occurs. Runs on pristine adrenaline and by no means lets up, with some excellent stuns and a daunting being. Cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T. J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, and Chris Mulkey. (85 minutes, 2008)

Southern Comfort: Macho National Guardsmen pity Cajuns in the Louisiana marsh, much to their remorse. Survivalof-the-fittest spun wool is an intellectually messed, Grade B Deliverance, in spite of its crisp direction. Cast includes Keith Carradine, Powers Boothe, Fred Ward, Franklyn Seales, T. K. Carter, Lewis Smith, Les Lannom, Peter Wolf, and Brian James. (106 minutes, 1981)

The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come: Bland clan-type film of boy who battled for the North throughout Civil Battle and his return to rural life. This movie is based on the 1903 novel by John William Fox. Cast includes McLaglen, Jimmie Rodgers, Luana Patten, Frost Wills, George Kennedy, and Neil Hamilton. (108 minutes, 1961)
