For my second van choice, it would have to be the enigmatic Eddy Van Halen. This bundle of extreme heavy metal in pure showmanship – a bit of a penis extension for the boys. Far from classic lines, this model is jagged and distorted, but still has perfect pick-up technique. Years on the road have left this once lean machine, struggling to make the grade and definitely living off past glories. If you like a van with so much noise that you cant hear yourself think this is the one for you!
Lee Van Cleef
The next choice on the list of top 5 best vans is the Lee Van Cleef Sabata aka White Van Man. I like the Sabata mainly because it is the baddy that everyone love to despise. This is the Good, the Bad and the Ugly all rolled into mean mother of a wagon that enjoys intimidating and annoying the *!!* out of other motorists.
Dick Van Dyke
The Dick Van Dyke is my fourth favourite choice. A classic fun machine, a veteran amongst the top 5 – versatile and good fun to be with. Although slightly cheesy in its style, it tried and failed miserably to imitate the cheeky cockney tones of its street-wise cousin the Transit van.
Dr Van Helsing
The Classic Abraham Van Helsing is the last of the top 5 van choices of all time. This model is the clever man’s white van man Times reader of the road. You are unlikely to find one of these in a cafe by the roadside, and what may not be known is that there is no horror in driving this model.
