A Card Trick That People Of All Ages Can Perform, Quick Find

It is easy and fun to perform magic card tricks with just a little practice beforehand. Do a little practicing and you will have tricks that will amaze your audience. Children can do these tricks and also wow their friends at the same time. ‘Quick Find’ is what this trick is called and it is very popular.

Getting ready:

Before you begin your trick you will need to remove four cards from your deck of cards. Use a standard poker deck of cards with fifty-two cards. Remove the red nines and the red sixes. The six of hearts and six of diamonds and the nine of hearts and nine of diamonds are the removed cards. Put the nine of diamonds on the top of the deck and put the six of hearts right under the deck at the bottom. All of the cards need to be face down. Leave the nine of hearts and the six of diamonds out.

To get the trick moving:

Hold the deck of cards in your left hand and show your audience the nine of hearts and the six of diamonds by laying them face up on the table. The six of diamonds and nine of hearts needs to be put back into the deck, so ask an audience member to do it. The cards will be put back into the deck

The conclusion:

{Holding the deck of cards in your left hand {or the right depending on which is more comfortable} , squeeze the top card and the bottom card together and toss the deck into your other hand.~Now with grace hold the deck in which ever hand is the most comfortable to you, put the deck into your other hand while squashing the top and bottom card together.~The deck will be moved from one hand to the other so begin with it in the most comfortable hand for you and with discretion as the deck moves to your other hand squish the top and bottom card together.} You can now show the cards because you have the top and bottom cards with you.

The audience almost never notices that you have showed them the nine of diamonds instead of the six of diamonds and the six of hearts instead of the nine of hearts. The success of this trick will depend on how quickly and smoothly you can perform the ‘Quick Find’ trick.

Another version of this ‘Quick Find’ trick:

The premise of this trick is the same except for one very important detail. Instead of using similar appearing cards you will steal a couple identical cards from an identical deck and before you begin the trick, add the two identical cards to the deck in your hand. Like before you will place one on top of the deck and one on the bottom of the deck both facing down.

In this version you can use any two cards. The six of clubs and nine of diamonds may be used. Show these two cards as before but place the six of clubs and the nine of diamonds on the deck you are holding. Ask your audience to place the cards lying on the table into the deck in random places. The cards could be put into the deck while it is spread across the table. The face of the cards cannot be seen. Amazingly the audience will end up with exactly the cards they chose after you have squeezed the deck and gotten the top and bottom cards.
